Urinal
The urinal is a stage.
The man of monologues
stands alone before
an audience,
staring over the porcelain
amphitheatre,
but when the man’s forced
fluid performance
freezes below
the fluorescent spotlight,
he exits stage left
as the next actor
rehearses his role for
life’s tragic comedy.
Chris Butler is a twenty-something nobody shouting from the Quiet Corner of Connecticut. He has previously published two chapbooks with Scars Publications, "Emo" and "The War of Art," and an upcoming collection co-written with the poet laureate of Cambodia, Randall Rogers, entitled "Black Tits."
